On-Campus Temporary Housing for International Students and Scholars
In collaboration with UC Berkeley's Summer Visitor Housing, Berkeley International Office has made arrangements to offer early, temporary on-campus housing to new international students admitted for the Fall 2009 semester and visiting international scholars. These accommodations are available to all students and scholars, even if you do not plan to live on campus in the Fall. The number of rooms being held aside for International students and scholars is limited, so make reservations early. Students who do not make reservations for temporary housing prior to arriving at Summer Visitor Housing will be accommodated on a space availability basis

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
International Students With Housing Contracts for Fall 2009 and who reside at Summer Visitor Housing up until August 19 are eligible for early move-in on Thursday, August 20, 2009. Please note that UC Berkeley cannot guarantee an early move-in to the residence halls to anyone.
International students who wish to take advantage of this offer must make their reservations by Friday, July 24, 2009 via e-mail, fax or telephone.
Students making their reservations after July 24 will be accommodated based on space availability. These students will not be eligible for early move-in to the residence halls.

Room Information:
- Traditional residence hall (dormitory-style)
- Furnished with one or two single beds, linens, pillows, towels, soap, desk(s) and wardrobe(s).
- Shared bathrooms with private toilets and showers centrally located on each floor.
- Telephone in each room. Long distance calls must be charged to a calling card or a major credit card.
- Internet access is not available

Reservations and Payment Information:
- Students requesting reservations after July 24, 2009 will be accommodated based on the availability of rooms.
- Payment may be made by VISA, Mastercard, Cash or Traveler’s Checks (in US currency). Personal checks are not accepted.
- A deposit for a reservation is not required.
- Please note that the front desk has a very limited amount of cash on site and cannot give change of more than $20.00.
- We ask that guests paying in cash or cashier’s check have exact change.

Terms of Agreement
Upon checking in to Summer Visitor Housing, students will be requested to pay the balance for their reservation. Should a student decide not to stay the full term of their reservation then a refund will be available. There are no cash refunds available at Summer Visitor Housing, therefore students paying with cash will be refunded by a check that will be mailed to them. If a student pays for their accommodations with a credit card, the card can be credited back for the refund amount. All students must check out of Summer Visitor Housing by 11AM on August 20, 2009.
