Students
International Students are an important part of the UC Berkeley community. From over 200 different nations, international students add a global dimension to the rich diversity found on the Berkeley campus.
Prospective Studentsare thinking about coming to study at UC Berkeley but have not yet been admitted. Current Studentsare pursuing degree programs and are enrolled in units or Filing Fee. Exchange Studentscome to UC Berkeley through an established program called the Education Abroad Program (EAP). Practical Training Studentsare F-1 or J-1 students who have graduated from UC Berkeley, have applied for work permission, and are currently working or seeking employment in the U.S. | New Studentshave been admitted to UC Berkeley but have not yet started classes. Transfer Studentsare newly admitted to UC Berkeley and have been in the U.S. attending school at another location in F-1 or J-1 status. Summer Studentscome to UC Berkeley for one or more Summer Sessions programs. Returning Studentsbegan their degree programs at UC Berkeley, withdrew for one or more semesters, and are returning to resume their program. |
