Returning in Summer

UC Berkeley Students
If you are a degree-seeking UC Berkeley student who has withdrawn from the University for one or more semesters and you wish to re-enroll during the summer, you can do so through Summer Session's UC Student Online Application.

Readmission is NOT required to enroll in summer classes only. However, if you plan to enroll in the fall term, your readmission must be approved by the start of the fall term.

Returning to File A Dissertation (Ph.D. students only)
If your intention is to return to UC Berkeley for the summer only to file your dissertation, you may not need an I-20 or DS 2019 document. However, you should discuss the matter with an Adviser in Berkeley International Office so that we can determine the most appropriate status for you depending on your length of stay in the U.S. and your future plans.
