Returning Students

Students who have withdrawn from the University for one or more semesters and would like to resume studies at UC Berkeley in the fall or spring terms must first be "Readmitted" to get access to Telebears for enrollment purposes (students resuming their programs in summer must follow an additional process). Readmission approval is also required to be eligible for the I-20 or DS-2019 documents needed to get an F-1 or J-1 student visa.

Students must take steps to make sure they have the proper UC Berkeley I-20 or DS-2019 from Berkeley International Office after a semester of withdrawal to maintain legal F-1 or J-1 status.
