Required Online Arrival Confirmation
F-1 Visiting Summer International Students are required to confirm their arrival in the U.S, in order to activate their F-1 immigration records.
Before your arrival in the U.S.:
1) Review the Summer International Student Tutorials
It is required that you review the Summer International Student Tutorials before completing the online Arrival Confirmation. The tutorials contain important information about maintaining your visa status.
After your arrival in the U.S.:
2) Complete the Required Arrival Confirmation
Follow instructions on the Arrival Confirmation web page by the end of your first week of summer classes.
3) Get your Cal1Card (student ID card)

What happens after I complete the online Arrival Confirmation?
Your documents will be reviewed to confirm your arrival. After you have completed the online Arrival Confirmation, your record will be cleared to receive a Cal1Card (student photo identification card).
How do I get my UC Berkeley student identification card?
The UC Berkeley student identification card is called the Cal1Card. After you have reviewed the tutorials and have completed the online Arrival Confirmation, your record will be cleared for you to obtain a Cal1Card at the Cal1Card office. When should I complete the online Arrival Confirmation?
Report to Berkeley International Office by completing the online Arrival Confirmation immediately upon arrival. U.S. law requires that you report to UC Berkeley no later than 15 days after your program start date, as reflected on your I-20 or DS2019.
What if I'm late to complete the online Arrival Confirmation?
Your legal status in the U.S. may be negatively affected if you do not complete the online Arrival Confirmation within 15 days of your program start date. You will also not be able to obtain a Cal1Card.
