TRAVEL ALERT: Berkeley International Office (BIO) strongly discourages travel due to the changing nature of U.S. immigration policy and the rapidly evolving COVID-19 outbreak and its impacts to global travel. For important information regarding current U.S. immigration policy, Executive Orders, and travel advisories, please see our Immigration Policy Updates page and COVID-19 FAQ page.

COVID-19 UPDATES: BIO is closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and Presidential Proclamations suspending entry into the United States. Please see our COVID-19 FAQ for current information about travel restrictions. The Department of State has announced a phased resumption of routine visa services. Visit your local U.S. embassy or consulate website to confirm operating status and find information about appointment rescheduling or emergency services. Should you have urgent, emergency travel needs to or from impacted regions, please contact BIO for advising. Travelers returning from CDC Risk Level 3 countries are required to follow UC Berkeley campus guidance. More information is available on the UC Berkeley COVID-19 campus website. Additionally, all UC Berkeley community members (faculty, students, staff) engaging in university-related international travel, regardless of destination, are advised to complete a campus two-step International Travel Protocol. Please see the Global Engagement Office website for more info.
