Summer as Last Term Students

  • If you are returning to Berkeley in the summer and you will complete your degree that summer, you must contact your college advisor first to ensure you can take the classes you will need to graduate. Readmission is not required.
  • Your college advisor will contact records staff at the Office of the Registrar so that you are able to enroll in the summer term in CalCentral. These requests can only come from your college advisor, the Graduate Division, or a Graduate Student Affairs Officer.
  • Once enrolled, contact nif@berkeley.edu to get access to the NIF. You will need to upload proof of summer enrollment. If you will not be enrolled full-time, you must submit a Reduced Course Load - Last Term as part of your NIF.

Returning to File a Dissertation (Ph.D. students only)

  • You may or may not need an I-20 or DS 2019 document. You should contact Berkeley International Office so that we can determine the most appropriate status for you depending on your length of stay in the U.S. and your future plans.
