- We will have one retreat near the beginning of Fall 2024 semester based on mentor availability.
Serving as a BIO Peer Mentor is a great opportunity to help new international students connect with campus and one another. You will play an invaluable role in aiding in their transition to campus while gaining skills and experiences that will help you with your future plans—and you'll have a lot of fun in the process!
Mentors will facilitate a variety of activities — including one-on-one meetings with their mentees and group programs or events — while introducing and connecting their mentees to campus and helping them make the most out of their college experience.
As a Peer Mentor, you will be a representative of Berkeley International Office and UC Berkeley and one of the new students' first points of contact. Your role will be to:

Assist first year and transfer students with their transitions

Facilitate and/or execute meetings, programs, and events for your mentees

Communicate regularly and effectively with your mentees during the summer as well as the Fall semester

Participate in and help coordinate program-wide events

Communicate one-on-one with your mentees

Attend trainings and development sessions

Complete reports
-
Actively participate in other BIO programming and perform other duties as assigned
